UCE AI Team News: Lightweight Dremio Flight MCP Server Released
April 17, 2025 — UCE Systems has officially launched its Lightweight Dremio Flight MCP Server, a Python-based implementation built on the Dremio Flight client that has already been in internal use ahead of Dremio’s own recent MCP server announcement.
This open-source server enables access to Dremio’s data through catalogs, schemas, and tables, and allows execution of SQL queries through a streamlined interface. Designed for simplicity and extensibility, it offers core MCP functionality for developers and data teams looking for minimal overhead and fast integration.
“We’ve been using this internally even before Dremio’s own MCP release,” said a UCE Systems team representative. “It filled a clear gap for lightweight integration and programmatic access to Dremio data in our AI workflows.”
While Dremio’s official release focuses on AI agent integration and natural language capabilities, the UCE Systems server offers a more focused toolset for direct data access via Python.
